T IS A PLEASURE TO FORMALLY AN- NOUNCE MY CANDIDACY FOR DISTRICT 14 POST 1, CHANCERY COURT JUDGE I. ELIZA BETH FOX AUSBERN, am fifty-four years old. I am the eldest child of Marion Fox and the late John P Fox of Houston, and the mother of three children Gray, Wilkes and Emme. My husband, Terry Aus- bern, formerly o Okolona, has owned and operated a construction business in Chickasaw County for over twenty-five years. My entelfe has been spent in Chickasaw County. My parents were transplanted from Alabama to Mississippi in 1961. My mother practiced as an ar- chitect while my dad practiced law for over 50 years in Houston. I am extremcly proad of their accom- plishments and the heritage they have provided to me and my children After receiving the Mylan Excellence in Pharmacy Award in 1987, I graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy. Thereafter, I returned to the University of Mississippi and obtained a law degree in 1993. While in law school, I served on the Missis- sippi Law Journal Staff and the Moot Court Board. For almost twenty-five (25) years, I was privileged to practice law with my father at Fox Law Firm. His legacy continues today as our firm continues to serve the citizens of Chicka- saw County and surrounding counties. While campaigning for this position, I have been rewarded to have people throughout Chickasaw County, Oktibbeha County, and Webster County approach me and discuss how much my dad helped them, personally or profes- sionally, and how greatly he is missed. John P Fox was my constant encourager and best Throughout my practice, I have referred to myself as a country lawyer and consider my self an effective advocate or counselor. God has afforded melife experiences such as divorce. the loss of a dear loved one, and opportunities that have placed me in the position to under- stand how to effectively handle contlict, different personalities, and difficult situations. Dai- ly. I am blessed to assist people in coping with their problems by creating livable solutions In 1999, the Houston Board of Aldermen appointed me as Houston City Attorney. My tenure working with various boards and mayors throughout the past nineteen (19) years has been rewarding. I have also served as counsel to the Chickasaw County Board of Su- pervisors and as Chickasaw County Attorney. I have served on the boards of Chickasaw Development Foundation and Regional Rehabilitation Board. I attend South Jackson Street Church of Christ in Houston. Having served as Chickasaw County Attorney, Houston City Attorney and practiced lass for the past 25 years, I am the most qualified candidate to apply compassion in handling these life changing issues A Chancellor deals with a wide spectrum of issues that can often be heartbreaking as the nerves of parties are so incredibly raw and exposed. Tempers often flare, and some situa- tions produce viokence. This job can be draining and definitely emotionally challenging However, God has equipped me with skills, I believe, that will provide discernment, kindness, and firmness in effectively handling each case. If elected, my mission will be to listen before determining the merits of each case. I hope to implement more effective resources available in dealing with broken families and do- mestic issues Please pray for me as I seek this position to serve the people of Chickasa Oktibbeha, Lowndes, Webster, Noxubee and Clay counties. Because of time constraints and the vast terrain of District 14, Post 1, 1 will not be able to see each voter at his or her residence. Therefore, I would sincerely request that you re view my qualifications, ask those working in the court system about y reputation, inquire about my character and cast your vote for ELIZABETH FOX AUSBERN on November 6th for District 14, Post I Chancery Court Judge.
